In the fall of 2016, four UMass students moved into Townhouse 47 at the Townhouses of Amherst complex for their junior year which soon became the focal point of them and their friends social lives. From pre-gaming the bars to football Sundays, from playing 2K, Rocket League and Job Simulator to day drink cookouts and, of course, witnessing the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history, a lot of memories were made in those two years and a lot of conversations were had revolving around takes on what was going in sports, music, gaming, TV and more.

Fast forward to 2020 and two of the guys who lived there, and one who frequently crashed on the couch, filled with nostalgia for those college days and looking for an escape/something to do during the COVID-19 quarantine decided to bring that energy back and fulfill a long talked about idea by creating Townhouse Takes, a sports and entertainment-themed blog with takes on all things of pop culture interest to them and people their age from them and a growing list of contributors (mainly their other friends).

As Townhouse Takes (hopefully) grows, we look to expand into a wide variety of content across multiple social media platforms, from blogs to podcasts to videos and more, so we hope you enjoy and support our content. Or don’t, whatever, your loss.
